PCBA Administrator Position Now Open

Molly Butcher has also recently left her position as Administrator to move to New York. We thank her for all of her dedicated work for PCBA and wish her the best of success on the east coast!

The Administrator position is now open and PCBA is accepting applicants. The description for the part-time Administrator post is available in this downloadable PDF.

Some members have expressed interest in picking up their work. Entries will be available for pick-up at Logos Graphics, 499 Alabama Street #126, San Francisco, CA 94110 (tel 415.552.0817) between Monday, August 22 and Friday, August 26 during normal business hours.  Otherwise, your entry will be safely returned via FedEx no later than Friday, September 9.

Hand Printing in Digital Times

Join the San Francisco Public Library this Saturday, July 23, at 2:00pm for a panel discussion on Hand Printing in Digital Times. Book artists will talk about the tradition of letterpress printing, digital innovations and how they incorporate craft and technology in their work.  The program takes place in the Latino-Hispanic Community Meeting Room, Lower Level, Main Library.
After the program take a walk (or the elevator) to the Skylight Gallery on the Sixth Floor, where over eighty works are on display in the 14th Triennial Pacific Center for the Book Arts exhibition, BookWorks. The show continues through August 7.

Book Artists Speak at the SF Public Library

Don’t forget to attend Book Artists Speak on Sat. July 9, 2-3:30pm in the Skylight Gallery of the San Francisco Public Library. PCBA members in the exhibit will talk about their concepts, processes and techniques – to be followed by a Q&A.

Card’s Night! This Wednesday!

A celebration of handmade playing cards, Tarot cards and more!

Wednesday, June 29, 7-9 pm

We’re looking for PCBA members to display their handmade decks of cards, do Tarot readings, card tricks, or any other card-related inspirations. There will also be food, drink, conviviality and a tour of Mary Laird’s world famous Quelquefois Press–Mark your calendar!

This Saturday we celebrated the opening of Bookworks 2011 at the San Francisco Public Library. With more than 100 guest and as many books, it was a great success! We hope you get a chance to see it!
